Peruvian cotton is recognized worldwide for its excellent quality. The most important varieties are the Pima and the Tanguis. Pima cotton is produced in northern Peru, while the Tanguis is produced in the south central region.

The Alpaca is originally from the Andean sierra region, which it has inhabited for thousands of years. Presently, it has a considerably important role in the Peruvian economy, with a population of over 3,500,000 and over 4,000 tons of wool produced each year. The city of Arequipa is the center of the industry and the commercialization of this derived product.
